Standard mileage rate reduced by 3.5¢ for 2009:
The IRS announced
that the 2009 standard mileage rates will decrease from the second half of
2008. Beginning 1/1/09, the standard business mileage rate will be 55 cents
per mile, the standard medical or moving mileage rate will be 24 cents per
mile, and the standard charitable rate will be 14 cents per mile. Rev Proc

Standard mileage rate increases by 8¢ for July through
December 2008:
IRS has announced that the optional mileage allowance for owned or leased
autos (including vans, pickups or panel trucks) is 58.5¢ for business travel
after June 30, 2008. That's 8¢ more than the 50.5¢ allowance for January
through June 2008 business travel. IR 2008-82
Standard mileage rate increases by 2¢ for January
through June 2008:
IRS has announced that the optional mileage allowance for owned or leased
autos (including vans, pickups or panel trucks) is 50.5¢ for business travel
after 2007. That's 2¢ more than the 48.5¢ allowance for 2007 business
